He was predeceased by: his wife Jannetje; his former wife Diny; and his siblings, Frits, Jan, Reitze, Jelle and Geer.
He is survived by: his children, Robert (Elizabeth), Alice De Vries (John) and David (Karin); his brother Henk (Irene); and his stepchildren, Joanne Hammers (Peter), Elaine Rypstra (Terry), Anita Carty and Paul Hammers (Cindy). He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
