He was predeceased by: his wife Cora; his stepson Fred; his siblings, Jan Visser (late Alie) and Dina Schuitema (Andy); and his siblings-in-law, Jan Bolhuis (late Flossie) and Irene McMillan (late Wayne).
He is survived by: his former wife Meta; his children, Ben (Terri), Peter (Melanie), Mike (Melanie) and Karin (Rob); his stepchildren, Deb (Wayne) and Ron (Suzette); his grandchildren, Jeremy (Bridget), Benjamin (Katie), Kaitlin (Mike), Joshua (Jasmin), Skylar, Mariekka, Ryan, Candice (Martin), Meghan (Matthew), Jocelyn (Evan), Olivia, Cameron, Kurtis, Christopher, Jasmine (Jordan), Teija (Harrison), Callum (Taylor), Rory (Danelle), Holden (Justine), Sage, Riley, Luke, Charlotte, Wyatt, Summer, Jacob, Elliot, Walter, Louis, Levi, Joel and Frederick; and his sisters-in-law, Edna Buma (late Peter) and Jennie Mast (late Andrew).
A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Groveside Cemetery (5155 Baldwin St S, Whitby, ON L1M1T4). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home (53 Division St, Bowmanville, ON L1C2Z8). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at 200 Glen Hill Dr S, Whitby, ON L1N9W2.
