He is survived by : his girlfriend Nancy Mason; his children, Eric (Allison), Linda (Chuck), Karen (Joel) and Vivian; and his grandchildren, Bestafar, Natalie, Kirsten, Patrick, Shayne, Catherine and Adam. He is also survived by brother, uncle and relatives.

“Karl was a kind and gentle man. He smiled often and sincerely. I met Karl years ago in the Stretch and Strengthen class in the Bracebridge Sportsplex along with his life partner, Nancy. And while Sylvie did not encourage talking, Karl loved to chat about bridge, the latest bids and how to best finesse, while we circled the pool during warm up. The pool was also where many of us "girls" first met becoming lifelong friends. Doreen, Jan, Connie, Anita + we'll all help Nancy through this sad time.”
