He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Yates and Jessie Yates; his siblings, Kenneth Yates, Marian Butterwick and Florence Yates; and his wife Jane Anne Yates.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Yates of Brampton, Greg Yates (Julie) of Wasaga Beach and Kelly Yates (Dave Robins) of Brampton; and his granddaughters, Ashley Wilkinson of Prince George and Erica Kindred of Brampton.
