Jimmie Boone Obituary
Jimmie Leo Boone passed peacefully from this life to the next on Monday, April 29th at 10:00 am. In his 91st year, Jimmie was with his two children, Stefanie and Curtis, his daughter-in-law Joanne and his grand daughter Jacy. Father to Stefanie (Paul) and Curtis (Joanne), Grampy to Dora, Jonathan, Kelly and Jacy, and Great Grampy to Jaxen, Malcolm, Autumn, Cameron, Chase, Aeris and Cadence.
Jimmie was married to Ella for over 52 years and after her death in 2000 found love again and married Frances in 2005. Born and raised in Rowena, New Brunswick, Jimmie started working in the woods at 13 years old. Jimmie was a hydro man for his working life beginning at 18 in the 40's as a lineman in New Brunswick and finishing his career as a General Manager with Mississauga Hydro in Ontario in the late nineties.
He was a natural engineer and inventor, a talented handy-man, loved baseball and golf. He loved the outdoors, camping and always took special care of his house and lawns. Jimmie was a man who held himself to a high standard and expected the same from others, a man of his word, a quiet man, never touched a drink and believed a man looked after his family above all things.
He borrowed very little, always paid his own way and never missed a commitment. He carried his pain and scars privately and didn't trust easily. He was strong on the outside and soft on the inside.
He was tough and stubborn and didn't suffer fools and yet would work all night on a favor for a friend. He loved Ella and carried her up stairs when she was too weak from chemo. He loved Frances and trusted her to hold his hand and be his voice when he faced his health struggles.
He was so very proud of his son and daughter and told everyone of their accomplishments. For most of his life he kept his distance from faith and went about doing what needed to be done. We lost his presence in this world on Monday morning but he is not lost, he is home at last.
