She was predeceased by: her husband Hubert Stokes; her parents, William John and Elsie Brown; and her siblings, Lorraine Mercer, Ruth Tilley, Elaine Porter, William (Bill), Paul and Walter Brown.
She is survived by: her daughter Ruth; her granddaughter Geri Peddle (Neal); her great grandchildren, Gavin, Alyssa and Eddy; her sons, Hubert (Patricia) and Nelson (Vicki); her brother Dennis Brown (Ruth); her siblings-in-law, Margaret Brown, Geraldine Sprague (Bill), Annie Parsons, Eleanor Stokes and Lorenzo Stokes (Bernice); her grandchildren, Carolyn O'Leary (Paul), Jody Stokes (Christine), Todd Stokes (Mary), Jennifer Stokes-Dore (Joey), Andrew Stokes, Andrea Stokes-Sheehan (Danny) and Gillian Stokes-Hogan (John); her great grandchildren, Robyn, Lucas, Darcy O'Leary, Lily, Caitlin Batten (Shawn), Matthew, Connor, Liam Stokes, Fallyn, Mona Dore and Maggie Hogan; and her great great grandchild Owen Batten. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Topsail United Church or to a charity of one's choice.
