We are sad to announce that on August 5, 2019, at the age of 72, Paul Vandervet (Brampton, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Vandervet and Rita Dol. He is survived by: his siblings, Marianne Karkkainen (Mark) and Jeff (Susan); his parents-in-law, Edwin and Shirley Derkach; his brother David Richard; his brothers-in-law, Richard Derkach (Angele) and Robert Derkach (Tess); and his grandson Leo.

In lieu of flowers a donation to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Deacon Paul's memory would be appreciated.

“To the family of Paul Vandervet I would like to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of this good man. You don't know me but I first heard of him when he became my parents' lawyer. I loved reading his Letters to the Editor in the Brantford Expositor that he had published on a regular basis and agreed with every word he said. I clipped many of them out and put them on my refrigerator so that others could benefit from his wise words. I never met him but he spoke to me nonetheless. God Bless.”
