He is survived by: his wife Jean Maxwell; his children, John, Jim, Elaine (Greg) and Michelle (Jordan); his grandchildren, Moira, Luke, Samuel, James, Andrew, Charlie, William, Martin and Claire; and his sister-in-law Patricia Maxwell.
