He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Leonor and Maria Leonor. He is survived by: his wife Denise; his children, David, Jessica (Marcus), Matthew and Stephanie; his brother Joe; his sister-in-law Jeri; his sibling's children, Paula, Tamara (Kyle) and Kyle (Jocelyn); and also Portugal.

In memory of Rui, donations to the Terry Fox Foundation in support of cancer research would be greatly appreciated.
