He was predeceased by: his spouse Grace; his brother Henk Datema; his siblings-in-law, Gaye Datema, Albert Valkema of Vries and Ekke of Vries; and also Francine Datema.

He is survived by: his children, Marg, Carl Mount of Queensville, Mathilda Tisseur of Cambridge, Ralph, Pat Datema of Clinton, Anita Wilson of Sardis, BC, Frank and Boni Datema of Aldergrove, BC.; his siblings, Mervyn Datema of Blyth, Fredrika Datema of The Netherlands, Martha Valkema of The Netherlands and Jan Buikema of The Netherlands; and his siblings-in-law, Ina of Vries, Truus, Hilko Rozema, Cees, Ity of Vries and Dorothy of Vries.

Memorial donations to World Renew or the Lighthouse, Toronto would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
