He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Tobey and Grace Tobey (Knill); his former wife Joy Tobey (Martin); and his brother John. He is survived by: his former wife Joy Martin; his wife Karen (Dyment); his stepchild Ryan Brooks (Kelly); his stepgranddaughter Ashleigh; his stepson Matthew Brooks (Melissa); his stepgrandson Henry; his children, Martin Tobey (Liz), Paul Tobey (Nancy) and Heather Mackey (Paul); his brothers, Allan Tobey (Flo), Gordon Tobey (Anne) and Bill Tobey (Donelda); his sister-in-law Ann; his grandchildren, Danielle Bury (Josh), Dustin Tobey, Alison Mackey, Abigail Mackey, Adrian Tobey (Allysha Howse), Hannah Mackey (Nate Egert) and Jack Mackey; and his great grandchildren, Sophie Tobey, Raeah and Melody Bury.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Oakland/Scotland Community church or Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
