He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Simon Van Spronsen Jr.; his parents, Fred McGaughey and Brenda McGaughey; and his father-in-law Simon Van Spronsen. He is survived by: his wife Annette; his daughters, Kaitlin, Kira (Jake) and Aurora; his sister Karen (Karen B.); his mother-in-law Maaike Van Spronsen; and his siblings-in-law, Jamie, Jason (Thanh) and Mark (Audrey). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Brantford General Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his name.
