He was predeceased by: his parents, George Howard and Ida Mae Pearson; his sister Sheila Pearson; and also, Jack Suddaby and Dorothy Suddaby.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Madelyn Pearson; his children, Michael John Pearson (Anna Maria Hartley) and Laurie Lynne Pearson (David Turvey); and his grandchildren, Hattie Madelyn Doerksen (Kieran Carr), Benjamin Michael Doerksen, Max Turvey and Noah Turvey.
