Joan Davis Obituary
Is at peace after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Brantford General Hospital on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the age of 74. Leaving behind wonderful memories for her husband of 49 years Glen Davis and daughters Lisa Davis (Shane Parnis) of Melbourne Australia and Lori Ramey (Jim) of Oakland, Ontario. Joan will be missed on the sidelines at the baseball games of her grandsons Mike and Andy Ramey, of whom she was so proud.
Also, missed by grandson Davison Parnis who loved spending time on the farm with grandma during his trips to Canada, and by her "adopted" granddaughter Laura Ronald. Survived by her sister Miss Margaret Gill of Simcoe. Joan was a teacher and worked for many years for both the Waterloo and Brant County school boards. Her love and passion was her life with Glen, farming, travelling and reading.
She had a clever wit, endless patience and was happiest enjoying good times with family and friends. Special thanks to the staff on the 7th floor at the Brantford General Hospital, who made Joan and her family comfortable in her final weeks. Their kindness and special care was so appreciated by the family. Friends will be received at the MCCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Rd. N., Brantford on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception at the Cambridge Shrine Club, 1149 Cheese Factory Rd., Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children c/o the Cambridge Shrine Club would be appreciated.
