He was predeceased by: his significant other Janice DeGeit. He is survived by: his children, Tim DeGeit and Kristin DeGeit-Dew; and his grandchildren, Jordan DeGeit and Mackenzie Dew.
In lieu of flowers family are requesting donations be made in Johns name to the McMaster Children's Hospital Foundation.
