She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Church and Margaret Church; her parents-in-law, Alfred and Margaret Silverthorne; her siblings, Janet Church, Linda Miedema, John Chuch and Earl Church; and her siblings-in-law, Lillian Robinson, Marion Kindree, Pat Jamieson, Gord Kindree, Jim Cookson, Larry Silverthorne and Joe O'Reilly.

She is survived by: her husband George Wardell; her children, Glenn Wardell and Lynn Wardell Aitchison (Robert Aitchison); her grandchildren, Dustin (Stephanie), Jordan, Jacob (Ashley), Nakita (Connor), Jarrod and Clinton; her great grandchildren, Maisie, Everett, Eden, Elliot and Elias; her sister Joan Church; her siblings-in-law, Jay, Carol Hoover, Shirley Cookson, Linda Silverthorne and Russ Robinson; and her mother-in-law Annie Wardell. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.

Over the last ten years of her life Elayne battled both Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia with determination and tenacity. Donations to The Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton in memory of Elayne would be appreciated by the family. https://alzda.donorsupport.co.
