She was predeceased by: her parents, Lyle Comer and Eleanor Comer (Anderson); and her sister Connie Moyer (Terry). She is survived by: her husband Ken Johnson; her daughters, Kory Martin (Troy Appleby) and Emily Johnson (John Conyon); her grandchildren, John Bielic (Lily) and Neve Conyon; and her sisters, Kate Forbes (Robert) and Barbara Hodge (late Ken).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
