He was predeceased by: his wife Bertha Fennema (Van Wieren); and his siblings, Sylvia Dejong, Hilda Malda, Peter and Jack.
He is survived by: his children, Audrey Willson (Ian), George (Janice), Derrick, Martin, Anna Lafontaine (Richard) and Gerald (Theresa); his sister Ada Stavinga; and his siblings-in-law, Joanne, Irene Zwart, Jannie Van Wieren, Bill Van Wieren, Klaas Van Wieren, Rita Van Wieren, Wilfred Dejong, Earl Malda, Herman Van Wieren and Peter Zwart. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home & Chapel (96 West St, Brantford, ON N3T3E7).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph's LifeCare Centre in Brantford or to the Canadian Cancer Association.
