She was predeceased by: her husband Jim Mudge; and her brother Ken Giles. She is survived by: her son Jeff; her grandson Cody (Kristen); and her brother Ted Giles (late Ruth). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

As expressions of sympathy donations in memory of Shirley can be made to Waterford Skate Park, or Waterford Heritage Trail.
