He was predeceased by: his mother Christine Stuart; and his son Matt Hinton. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ellis; his daughter Kristen McKechnie; his grandchildren, Lexus, Tiara, Emma, Leigha and Hailee; his sister-in-law Lyn Ellis; and his niece Ashley McRae.

Any donations in his honour will be gratefully received at the Brantford General Hospital.
