Lyla Groen Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 21, 2026, at the age of 67, Lyla Groen (Brighton, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Myrtle Semple and William Semple; her parents-in-law, Klaas and Sieger; and her brothers, Leo (Elain) and Frank (Debbie).

She is survived by: her husband John Groen; her parents-in-law, Ellen Scheepstra and Henny Kloostra; her brother Elwood (Teresa); her friend Linda Semple; and her siblings-in-law, Rick, Mary, Dan, Dacey, Teresa, Andy, Ron, Gina, Annette, Greg, Carla and Norman.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fellowship Christian Reformed Church (204 Main St, Brighton, ON K0K1H0). A memorial service was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
