She is survived by: her husband Walter Vanderlaan; her children, Colin (Danielle) of Dorchester and Rachel (Wayne) of Toronto; and her grandchildren, Owen, Joshua, Elliott and Sydney. She is also survived by her many family members and friends.

She took such good care of Bettie and her mom, even staying in touch with Lena's friends on her behalf. She'll be missed by many of us on the periphery of her life and surely leaves a huge empty space in the lives of Walt, Colin, Rachel, and her grandchildren. You have my sincere sympathy and love.
