Wayne Daniel King Obituary
Wayne Daniel King, a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy built on love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Wayne worked as a gold miner, auto body man, and long-haul truck driver—roles that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for those he loved. He took immense pride in supporting his family and ensuring they always had what they needed. Beyond his work, Wayne found freedom and joy on his Harley-Davidson—lovingly named Yellowtail—where the open road became both his passion and his peace.
For 31 years, Wayne was married to the love of his life, Ellen King. Their relationship was one of deep love, laughter, and quiet romance. Whether in the kitchen, the living room, or wherever the moment found them, Wayne never missed a chance to dance with Ellen when the right song came on—something that will forever be remembered by those who knew them.
Wayne was the proud father of Michael (Christine) King, Lisa King (Tom Lee), Brian (Cindy) King, and Kim Hallett (Andrew Wilson). He was also a cherished grandfather to Cordell, Neo, Charlotte, Morgan, Shelby, Tonia, Jaxson, Dawson, Mia, Austin, Connor, Stella, Sadie, Ethan, Cameron, and Alex, and a great-grandfather to Reily and Elizabeth. His family was his greatest accomplishment, and he loved each of them fiercely.
Known for his gruff exterior, Wayne was often seen as a tough, sometimes grumpy man—but those who truly knew him understood the truth: beneath it all was a soft, big-hearted teddy bear. He was deeply loving, fiercely loyal, and always willing to lend a hand. If someone needed help, Wayne showed up—no questions asked. He was also known for his iconic mustache, worn proudly and as much a part of him as his unmistakable presence.
Wayne impacted the lives of many through his generosity, his strength, and his authenticity. He loved his family and friends with everything he had and stood as a steady, dependable presence in their lives.
In his own way, Wayne’s spirituality was found on two wheels, embracing the freedom and peace that only the open road could offer.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held during "bike season". Details TBD.
