Duncan Dewar Obituary
The memory of Duncan Dewar (Brockville, Ontario), born in Ottawa, Ontario, who passed away on September 27, 2025 at the age of 54, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Duncan Dewar to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Duncan may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He is survived by: his parents, Tommy Dewar and Brenda Dewar; his sister Katherine; his brother-in-law Stijn De Kerpel; and his cousin Valerie Dewar. He is also survived by his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His sister remembers fondly when covid had threatened to shut down the yearly Easter pancake tradition, but he insisted it couldn't. Instead, he drove from Brockville to Ottawa to drop off McDonalds pancakes and the required chocolate bunnies from the hood of his car so the family could eat them together over video call.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation in Duncan Dewar's name to honour the people who were with him in his final moments will be gratefully acknowledged.
