Duncan Tanney Obituary

We announce the death of Duncan Tanney in Brockville, Ontario, who passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 58. Duncan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Duncan will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Duncan will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Duncan’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.

He was predeceased by: his father Junior Tanney. He is survived by: his mother Geraldine Tanney; his sister Heather Slack (Shawn); his niece Jackie; his nephew James; and his uncles, Keith Tanney (Diane) and Orval Tanney. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.

A graveside service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens (2451 County Rd 15, Maitland, ON K0E1P0).

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care Unit or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.
