He was predeceased by: his parents, Holgar Nielsen and Flora Nielsen; and his siblings, Svend-Erik and Anne-Mette Gillespie. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Nielsen; his siblings-in-law, Pat Gillespie and John Robertson; and his niece Heather Snider (Jeremy). He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
