He was predeceased by: his parents, William Spero and Thelma Spero (Phillips); and his brother Steven Spero. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Stinson; his in-laws, David, Michael (Wendy) and John Stinson (Miju); his sons, Mark, Mike and Jeff; and his stepson Edward Shea. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
