He was predeceased by: his sister Thelma Perkins; and his niece Melanie Male. He is survived by: his spouse Gail Perkins; his sister Pamela Male; and his nieces and nephews, John Male Jr. (Christine), Janine Male (Tom Van Droffelaar) and Gwyneth Male. He is also survived by 6 great nephews, 1 great niece, 4 great-great nieces and 2 great-great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leeds & Grenville SPCA or the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
