Maureen Sampson Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maureen Sampson (Brockville, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 20, 2026 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maureen Sampson to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Peter Sampson; her sister Sharon Douglas; her niece Judy Wasylesky; and her parents, Beatrice Magar (Chisholm) and Lloyd Magar.

She is survived by: her children, Lynn Mitchell and Scott Sampson; her granddaughters, Laura Mitchell (Christopher Millar), Elena Mitchell (Nicholas Walters) and Melanie Johnson (Kilian Johnson); her nieces, Nancy Doobenen (Chris) and Samantha Maybee; and her cousin Alison Black. She is also survived by her loving family and by her many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alongside Hope (formerly the Anglican Primate's World Relief and Development Fund), and the St. Lawrence Writers' Festival.
