He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Barnard and Harry Barnard; his sister Rita Lortie; his great grandchild Jackson White; and his stepgrandson Braden Peters.

He is survived by: his wife Kaye Barnard (Bryant); his children, Debbie Monette (David), Raymond Barnard Jr. (Claire) and David Barnard; his grandchildren, David-Ryan, Rachelle (Greg), Nicole (Zack), Petra, Chet (Nadia) and Chelsea (Evan); his great grandchildren, Nicolas and Layla; his stepchildren, Laura Rienstra (David), Cliff Peters (Annette), Dan Peters (Tanis), Kathy Seymour (Mark) and Karen Lamport (Greg); his grandchildren, Heidi (Taylor), Emily (Mike), Allison (Darko), Andrew (Amanda), Callie, Reagan (Mitch), Clark (Jessica), Rob (Carlyn) and Erin (Josh); Jackson, Lincoln, Luke, Zora, Mia, Kane, Bodee and Dean.

Due to Covid limitations, a memorial service will be planned for a later date.
