He was predeceased by: his mother Irene Mae Pullan Hewitt. He is survived by: his children, Clare Hewitt (Lynn), Shawn Hewitt (Kim), William Duhamel, Gary Hewitt and Kaitlyn Hewitt (Kevin); and his siblings, Gary Foster Hewitt and Carol Ann O'Meara. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
