He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Middlemiss and Eleanor Ovans; his sister Shirley Rutherford (Howard); and his siblings-in-law, Tony, Betty Sisty, Harold Wilson, Frank Sisty and Ann Baker.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Middlemiss; his children, Kathleen Waddell (John) and Jeffrey Middlemiss Heather (Jennifer); his stepchildren, Lisa Mitchell (Ken) and Anthony Gilmer (Koreena); his siblings, Beryl Myatt (Stanley), Gail MacDonald (Ronald) and Roberta Wilson; and his grandchildren, Jessica, John Waddell, Megan, Shelby, Nicole Middlemiss, Elinora, Samuel Almers, Miley, Galvin, Colton McCaig, Sadie, Drew Waddell, Brendon Stitt, Faith, Nathan Mitchell, Benjamin, Hannah, Gabrielle Gilmer, Sebastin and Anisley Stitt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
