He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Brodhagen and Mabel Brodhagen (Buddenhagen); and his sisters, Shirley Brodhagen and Joyce Winteringham (Glenn). He is survived by: his children, Amanda Brodhagen (Derek Glaspell) and Bryan Brodhagen; his siblings, Elvey Brodhagen of Brunner and Ruby Schultz (Brian) of Ripley; his family Century Farm; and his wife Brenda.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Visitation was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Perth East Recreation Complex (40 Temperance St, Milverton, ON N0K1M0).

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the St, Pauls Lutheran Church, Moserville, or 4-H Ontario and can be done on the funeral home website.

“I'm so sorry to read of Martin's passing. Our family was very fond of Martin and enjoyed his rural wisdom and his salty tales. He sometimes brought us boxes of peaches and other produce from his travels. I remember Martin taking goats to Central Perth to show the students and he arranged a trip to the donut shop for the kids. Rolly enjoyed spending time at Camp Central Perth with Martin and he made us smile every time we saw him. He was a very good man. He will be missed.”
