He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Bitzer and Paula Bitzer (Klarmann); and his brothers, Karl Heinz, Walter and Dieter.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Bitzer (Badertscher); his children, Barbara (Oliver Herzig), Roland Bitzer (Jeanine Boulter-Bitzer) and Michael Bitzer (Sonja Huitema); his sister Edith; and his brother-in-law Martin. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Stratford General Hospital or St. Paul's United Church.
