Richard Petty Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 22, 2025, Richard Petty (Burford, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Richard farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Richard is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Petty and Cicely Petty; his sister Joan Gerhing; and his granddaughter Laura Zylstra. He is survived by: his wife Marion (Tune); his children, Mark and Gaye Muir (Wayne); his sister Brenda Lesage; and his aunt Norma Hureau. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home (134 King St, Burford, ON N0E1A0).
