She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Hopkins and Ethel Hopkins; her husband Sam Steele; and her sisters, Ruth and Marion.
She is survived by: her children, Colleen (late Robert), Bill (Jocelyn), Bob, Sam (Kelly), Jim (Jan) and Dan (Cathy); and her sister Joan Winter of Cochrane. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Compass Point Bible Church (1500 Kerns Rd, Burlington, ON L7P3A7). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Woodland Cemetery (700 Spring Gardens Rd, Burlington, ON L7T1J3).
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Betty's memory are invited to donate to Albright Manor or the Canadian Bible Society.
