He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Cassells (Kyle); and his child Kim. He is survived by: his child Lynn (John); his grandchildren, Amy, Richard (Angela), Lochrey (Jami) and Matthew (Jazmynn); his great grandchildren, Cameron, Chloe, Colin, Anthony, Colby, Lennyn, Sawyer and Kason; and his sister Caroline.
