We are sad to announce that, on March 12, 2026, Elizabeth Gillies (Burlington, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Allan Johnston and Irene Johnston; her brother-in-law John Baranowski; and her parents-in-law, Jim and Verna Gillies.
She is survived by: her husband Mark Gillies; her children, Shannon Gillies (Bill Charney) and Kristen Lochhead (Brian); her sister-in-law Carol; her nieces and nephews, Kelly Riley (George) and Lori Shadrach (Andre); her grandchildren, Andrew, Emily and Lindsay; her friends, Holly Newton and Rhonda Taylor; and her caregivers, Tammy and Amber.
In keeping with Elizabeth's strong feelings of gratitude for the high quality of attentive care she received here, the family would appreciate memorial donations to Brightshores Health System Owen Sound Foundation (https://brightshoresfoundation.ca) or Grey Bruce Hospice (Chapman House).
