He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf Kirsten and Louise Kirsten; his former wife Grace; and his brothers, Lothar (Judy) and Wolfgang.

He is survived by: his wife Taija Siegle; his stepdaughter Tracie; his children, Clarissa Narain (David) and Eric Kirsten; his grandchildren, Nolan (Hannah) and Jameson; his siblings, Renate (Horst) and Ralf (Kim); and his close friends, Ursula, Vic Collins, Ewald and Shirley Vopel.
