He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Helen; his children, Susan Stenzel-Pittman (Deane) and Peter Stenzel; his grandchildren, Keith, Beth (Michal), Kristen (Mike), Caitlin (Austin) and Haley; his great grandchildren, Eloise, Declan and River; his sibling Liselotte Pregernig; and also Andrea Fischl-Pregernig (Winni). He was also cherished by his extended family and many friends.

A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church (2265 Headon Rd, Burlington, ON L7M4E2). A reception was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Church Hall Immediately.
