Maria Pezzetta Obituary
In Loving Memory of Maria Theresia Pezzetta It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Pezzetta, who left us peacefully in her sleep on October 8, 2024, at the age of 69. Maria was a woman of incredible strength and determination, known for her fiery spirit and her unwavering love for her family and friends.
Born on February 20, 1955, Maria made the journey from Bavaria to Canada with her family at the young age of 5. Her experiences early in life taught her to be the strong, resilient, independent and passionate woman that we have all known her to be. She carried these qualities with her throughout her life, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
As a daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, she was our rock—fiercely protective, endlessly supportive, and always pushing us to be the best versions of ourselves in her own special ways. She lived life on her own terms, always staying true to herself and encouraging others to do the same. Her courage and resilience saw her through life's toughest moments, and her fierce determination was an inspiration to everyone around her.
Maria was also known to be an incredible gardener and generous hostess, always welcoming family and friends. She had a knack for fantastic meals and bringing people together to connect and celebrate. Her legendary pool parties and holiday gatherings will be missed by all who had the pleasure of attending. Above all, she was loved by many, and her legacy will live on through the stories we share and the countless lives she touched.
Maria is survived by her loving husband Danny, daughters Ilona (Darren) and Megan (Greg) and her grandchildren that she was so proud of and loved dearly, Madigan, Erika, Lauren and Logan. She was predeceased by her parents, Annie and Alfred, as well as her brother Fred. Maria is also survived by her sister, Hannelore, with whom she shared many memories from their early years. Maria leaves behind many relatives in Germany whom she has continued to stay close with over the years, as well as extended family, friends and coworkers who will miss her beyond words.
Visitation will take place October 17th at Bay Garden Funeral Home in Burlington from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A celebration of her life will be held on October 18th, 2024 at Bay Gardens Funeral Home in Burlington, with reception to follow where friends and family are invited to gather and share their favorite memories of Maria.
