He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Doreen; his children, Wayne Laverdiere, Gary Laverdiere (Sherry) and Sheryl Zonneveld (late Ed); his stepchildren, Steven Burke (Debbie), Darlene Mulay and Daren Burke; his grandchildren, Nick (Miranda), Nathan (Ashley), Ryan (Kaitlyn), Shawna, Andrea (Jeff), Cody (Candice), Kyle, Alexa, Jessica, Rachel, Emma and Carter; his great grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Grace, Ayden, Ryland, Jayce, Isabelle, Jackson, Charlotte, Avery, Rhys and Vincent; his brother Raymond Laverdiere (Pauline); and his former wife Sylvia.
