He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Janny; his children, Marian, Jan Visser, Arlene and Craig Alkema; his grandchildren, Willam, Lindsy Visser, Laura Visser, Jennifer, Chris Houweling, Jessalyn, Dan Brouwer, Sid, Delaney Alkema, Owen Alkema, Johanna Daum, Abigail Alkema and Tristan Bartels; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Levi, Adalyn, Logan, Carter, Titus, Noah, Lincoln, Moses, Aria, Saige, Evelyn and Maverick; and his siblings, Jantine (Joop Bergman), Cor (Jane Vanyken), Gijs (Riek Vanyken), Betsy Vanyken, Andy (Tini Vanyken), Hank (Ineke Vanyken), Arend (Nettie Pilon), Jan (Hilda Pilon), Hugo (Shirley Pilon), Rikus (Greet Pilon) and Gerhard (Gerda Pilon).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Ebenezer Canadian Reformed Church (607 Dynes Rd, Burlington, ON L7N3G6). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 9:45 AM to 10:15 AM at the Garden Lane Cemetery (181 7th Concession Rd, Hamilton, ON L0R1V0). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ebenezer Canadian Reformed Church (607 Dynes Rd, Burlington, ON L7N3G6).
