He was predeceased by: his siblings, Aris "Peter" Vandehaar, Corrie Vermeer (Ernest), Casey Vandehaar (Laurence), Sophia Kuik (Harm), Ricki McGibbon (Dave) and Bert Vandehaar (Janet).

He is survived by: his sons, John (Jenn), Jeremy (Dusanka) and Jamie (Christy); his grandchildren, Zane, Steele, Aiden, Taylor, Austin, Hunter, Valentina and Alek; and his sibling Hennie Kroes (Garry). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
