He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Doris. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his children, Ruth Westerveld (Gary), Jayne Sheppard (Kent) and Michael Barnes; his grandchildren, Rhys, Michael and Christine; his brother Dennis Barnes (Linda); and his nephew Philip.
