She was predeceased by: her husband Jose Monteiro; her parents, Antonio Bairos and Justina Chaves; and her siblings, Maria Bairos, Jose Bairos (Maria), Filomena Resendes (Jose), Antonio Bairos (Rosa), Manuel Bairos (Palmira), Lenor Chaves (Jose Maria), Gilherme Bairos (Maria) and Saul Bairos.

She is survived by: her children, Joe (Lydia), Henry (Aida), Silvino and Manuel (Linda); her grandchildren, Cheryl (Lyle), Eric (Kristin), Alison, Ryan (Dana), Catherine and Matthew (Emily); her great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Evan; her brothers, Joao Bairos (Rosa) and Vicente Bairos (Elvira); and her siblings-in-law, Jose Maria Chaves and Rosa Bairos. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
