He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Chaves and Virginia Chaves; and his siblings, Dinis, Daniel and Herculano.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Rego Chaves; his former spouse Altino Chaves (Daniella) of Fall River; his grandchildren, Michael, Christina, Crystal, Emanuel, Amber, Megan, Candice, Nolan, Celeste and Carter; his goddaughter Cheryl; and his siblings, Manuel of Cambridge, Miguel of Cambridge and Celeste of Cambridge. He is also survived by ses his wife of 61 years, he leaves behind three sons.
