Donald Telfer Obituary

Peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday July 26, 2023, in his 97th year.

Born In Dundas and raised on the family farm around Burford. Donald enlisted at 17 for WWII, never having the opportunity to serve overseas. He was employed with CN Rail in Brantford and for over 40 years worked with Canadian Coachlines as, a Driver, Dispatcher and Route Supervisor. In his so called retirement he shuttled cars around for many local car dealerships.

Beloved husband to Helen (nee Zombeck) for over 73 years; Loved dad to David (Theresa); cherished grandpa to Sarah Telfer-Leach (Bridget) and Samantha Burry (Tyler), and Stephanie Telfer-Atell (Thomas), Josh Gallant (Sarah), Courtney Gallant (Curtis), and Cassandra Gallant; Great grandpa to Jackson, and Jett; dear brother to Elsie Telfer (Eileen) and brother in law to Mary Anne. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by brother Ralph, and sisters, Mabel Duncan (Walt), and Pat Chambers (Gord).

Friends may call at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St. Ayr on Monday from 1-2 PM. Funeral Services to follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00PM. Interment Later Pioneer Cemetery Burford.
