He was predeceased by: his brother Bob (Isabel); and his parents, Tommy Spence and Edna Spence. He is survived by: his children, Jeff of Vancouver, Deanne Telford (Peter) of Cavan and Bill of Doon; his grandchildren, Sam, Jonah, Mitchell and Katie; and his brothers, Ted (Miriam) and Ken.
