He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Ellis and Ethel Ellis; his wife Margaret; his son Tony (Shirley); and his siblings, Ken Wendland, Dorothy Allen and Stan Ellis.

He is survived by: his children, Kathy Dooley (Mike), Mike and Stephan Ellis; his grandchildren, Kristine Hibbs and Ian Dooley; and his great grandchildren, Britney, Nathan, Kaydance, Leah and Jackson.
